We have provided a range of support activities to PCL since its inception and particularly assisted it to successfully handle a dramatic increase in business as the result of winning a major contract. The project required a complete review of the process, procedures and systems to handle the production and management of a significant increase in cards issued. This in turn meant a revised approach to project delivery processes, and quality management. We provided a number of consultants and development staff on an Interim Placements basis to assist in these reviews and in the subsequent implementation of recommendations.
The specific areas where we were involved in were:
- Operational aspects of the overall smart card production;
- Quality Management and Control;
- Project Delivery;
- Systems Specification and Documentation;
- Systems Testing;
- Database Analysis;
- Help desk performance improvement;
- Infrastructure Support.
We have also provided an Interim Bid and Programme Manager to prepare bids for major projects and to establish a formal programme and project management environment to support the subsequent implementation of the systems. The assignment was extremely successful and the interim manager accepted a permanent position with the company. We have similarly provided other permanent technical and managerial staff to PCL.
