Evolve Secure Solutions, a specialist provider of storage, security and infrastructure has helped Travis Perkins plc, the UK’s leading builders merchant to deploy FireEye as part of efforts to safeguard against advanced persistent threats (APTs).
Following an attempted cyber-attack, senior InfoSec staff at Travis Perkins approached Evolve at one of the solution providers’ regular Technology Seminars to discuss potential systems to help strengthen its layered security posture. “Evolve introduced us to the FireEye’s platform and after further evaluation, the system was deemed as potentially suitable to address several areas that we had concerns around especially around zero day threats,” explains Simon Gray, Information Security Specialist at Travis Perkins.
Travis Perkins plc is the UK’s leading builders’ merchants and is part of a group that can trace its roots back over 200 years and continues to grow today by following a successful strategy of acquisition and organic growth. In the wake of recent high-profile attacks on other organisations, and with the Information Commissioner Office (ICO) threatening increasingly severe penalties for inadequate data protection, the group was keen to improve network visibility and ensure the continuous security of customer information. As a publicly listed company, Travis Perkins plc also needs to take steps to protect sensitive shareholder and financial details.
